We popped out for a walk on Friday afternoon expecting to take some nice autumnal photos, but alas, almost all the trees were bare! It seems to have changed so quickly - on the one hand, it feels like autumn never came, and on the other, it seems to have transitioned unnoticed! 🍂🍁
Gorgeous writing. I’ve loved the autumn colours this year although work has been so stressful, I feel I’ve missed the best of it being preoccupied with other things. I’m looking forward to winter, particularly to decorating the house for Christmas. I am not looking forward to more of these grey skies - they feel heavier this year. I am also looking forward to more of your lovely writing as we transition into a new season and beyond.
I'm sorry to hear that work has been stressful - what is it that you do for a living? I LOVE the build up to Christmas but it doesn't take long before the novelty wears off and I'm longing for spring, especially in that awful time between Christmas and spring arriving, January seems to last for 83 weeks 😂 I hope the week ahead is kind to you ☺️ x
I negotiate licensing agreements so it shouldn’t be stressful - no one’s life depends on what I do - but, for various reasons, it is. 😂 I agree about the novelty. As soon as NYE is done, I’m over the decorations and then I have an early January birthday (and my husband is late January) but it’s always so depressing because the weather is awful, everyone is doing dry January and it’s hard to find new, fun things to do inside. 😞 I always find I’m counting down to March and looking forward to the first magnolia blooms - then I know spring is springing. I always set my spring watch by Death in Paradise (the TV show). It’s usually 8 or 10 episodes and starts around my birthday so I know once the series has finished, we’re on the homeward stretch into spring. 😂 I hope this week is wonderful for you. x
Such a beautiful, descriptive piece of writing, it has reached out and made me feel like I'm right there in those autumnal woods this morning. Thank you.
Autumn is such a beautiful season, if only it didn't rain so much it would really be quite lovely 😅 we're in spring here, which is equally beautiful, it's so nice seeing everything come to life again 🌲
It hasn't rained much here yet (that I've noticed). Id happily cut out winter and jump straight into spring. It won't be long before I'm wishing the colder days away, fed up, and desperate to get out in the garden again 😂
Such a lovely piece, Jenna, thank you! Very inspirational 🍂✨❤️
Thank you for reading and for your kind words Anne, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it 🙂

I completely agree David. I took ventured out at the weekend and noticed that all the leaves had fallen too, autumn feels way too short 😞 🍂
